FACT TV and Sound Pellegrino presents Meet Koyote, a documentary about French club music’s best-kept secret.

Although he’s far from a household name, key figures in French clubbing such as Teki Latex, DJ Orgasmic and Manare – all featured in Meet Koyote, along with Detroit’s DJ Nasty and others – revere Koyote for his encyclopaedic knowledge of dance music, his musical approach (a healthy combination of wide-eyed naivety and not giving a fuck what people think of him) and his contribution to the Paris scene as a booker, DJ and producer.

Speaking to FACT, Teki Latex – whose Sound Pellegrino label have just released Koyote’s latest EP, Let Me Tell You What I’ve Got – compares Koyote’s music to Matt Groening using high school bands to play music in The Simpsons, despite it being arranged by professionals. “This EP reminds me of that approach”, he explains, “anti-elitist sounds and instruments serving a very confident release that stretches our personal definitions of House to spy movie scores played by children, characterised with playfulness and radiating the pure joy of creating music.”

“Let Me Tell You What I’ve Got” is out now on Sound Pellegrino.

Let your weekend be soundtracked by this Fact Magazine mix done by none other than DJ Orgasmic and Teki Latex (2/3 of Sound Pellegrino).

Expect left field dance music interspersed by bassed up club sounds from across the globe but with an emphasis on their French counterparts.

“We tend to favour live blends over bootlegs and edits, and the occasional tweaks and glitches you will hear in this mix are made live using (and abusing) the slip mode on the CDJs nexus. We have always had a hard time choosing between 4/4 and broken rhythms, or between techno and a song format, so we tend to jump from one to the other. We grew fascinated and obsessed by these dualities, and it’s the re-contextualisation and association of these tracks together that create our own version of club music.”

Parisian gentleman Teki Latex and Helsinki production wizard Eero Johannes teamed up for the track “Things That I Do” and now we get the splendid visuals with drawings and animation done by Pierre Thyss.

“It’s my song and as usual I feel awkward talking about it. Probably my first foray into a ‘song’ format since my ‘Pop’ days, and who else than Eero Johannes (Planet Mu) to back it up with a chunky slice of kindergarten futurist lo-fi phonk? The lyrics are a confession of sorts, and the beat, stuck between Computer Love and the traditional Eero-dney Jerki-hannes vibe make this ‘kind of a cool R’n’B song’.” (▰˘◡˘▰) ←Teki blushes.”

Our friends Teki Latex and Orgasmic AKA Sound Pellegrino Thermal Team played a set at Razzmatazz in Barcelona recently. They threw out heavy bass tracks, future club sounds, jacking house and hard hitting techno in a set that we imagine made it impossible to stand still.

Warsaw based producer The Phantom has been a staple in the European dance music scene for a few years now, he’s latest track “Cruising” was released on French label Sound Pellegrino.

We here at Discobelle are proud to present his mix of funky and cinematic house greatness done exclusively for us in Discobelle.

Tracklist can be found after the jump.
